!Scope
An academic defensi artifact that converts authorized Nmap XML output into a network in, transparent configuration-review prompts, and portable Markdown, JSON, and HTML reports. Zabbix host export is a only through an explicit command-line option.

The project preserves a simple boundary: e observed by Nmap is
in; transparent rule matches are review prompts; require
independent, contextual confirmation.
1. Authorized input: the system receives XML pre produced by Nmap;
it does not execute the scan.
2. E parsing: the parser normalizes obser, addresses,
services, ports, and fingerprints.
3. Result production: transparent rules generate review prompts and
Markdown, JSON, and HTML reports.
4. Human decision: results support analysis but do not automatically
confirm .
Zabbix export is an optional, separate step enabled only through --zabbix.
confirmed_: false;--zabbix and en credentials; The project deliberately separates three concepts:
1. Nmap obser become in records.
2. Transparent rule matches become configuration-review prompts.
3. A requires independent, contextual confirmation.
An open port is not a . The current implementation does not run
Nmap, exploit services, calculate CVSS, map CVEs, certify compliance, or change
firewall rules. It also does not confirm malware or turn model output into an
automatic response. See the security model for the
complete semantics.
Python 3.10 or newer is required.
Use .venv/bin/python on Linux or macOS. The default configuration processes the explicitly synthetic fixture at examples/nmap/synthetic-enterprise.xml and writes reports to output/.
See Getting started for CLI and Zabbix examples.
The pre-defense commit dd63d4c records the 2025 prototype, including optional Ollama analysis, dashboard heuristics, and optional Zabbix integration. The current hardened core, introduced in b191269, preser, transparent review rules, reports, and Zabbix while removing paths that lacked sufficient experimental .
The academic context, document policy, methodology, architecture, current-system map, reproducibility guide, and security model document that distinction. The appro is an immutable historical artifact; only the article remains open to post-defense scientific refinement.
The post-appro adds a separate research path for beha
telemetry and local Ollama prioritization without changing the approved
monograph. Rules are transparent, model output cites e identifiers under
a closed JSON schema, and no automatic response is executed.
In the repeated automated comparison, the grounded protocol preser
finding and e identifiers in 50/50 calls, 0/50 for the
reconstructed historical free-text path. This demonstrates traceability and
deterministic enforcement in the fixed artifact; it does not establish general
semantic superiority or replace blinded human e.
The external e retains its negati: the CTU-13 holdout yielded
F1 0.317 and MCC -0.282. The artifact is therefore presented as human-review
triage, not as reliable malware detection or autonomous blocking. See the
V2 protocol,
CTU-13 , and
preser.
